Exciting finals at the ESAB Silver Jubilee Cricket Tournament

ESAB Middle East’s Silver Jubilee Cricket Tournament gathered together more than 60 teams, all of which are ESAB’s customers, to enjoy a cricket tournament rich in atmosphere, excitement and sportsmanship spirit.

The entire league round of 64 teams was played over a period of 4 Fridays, starting from October 26^th. The final knock-out round was played as the Main Event Finals & Plate Event Finals on Friday, November 23^rd.

JRay’s ‘B’ team held their nerve to hang on to an exciting victory in the Main Event Final. They narrowly beat runners up Tiger Steel by one run.

The Abu Dhabi Ship Building Team dominated the Plate Event Final and made it to the victory over Ascon.

Moreover, Mr. Celestine of Abu Dhabi Ship Building was awarded ‘Player of The Tournament’ for his excellent performance in the knock-out round. Mr. Taher from Tiger Steel was awarded ‘Best Batsman’ for scoring 42 runs and Mr. Waseem from DESCON was awarded ‘Best Bowler’ for taking 7 wickets for 20 runs.

By organizing the tournament, ESAB Middle East celebrated its 25^th milestone in the region.

All the teams came from ESAB’s customers; the engineering companies inside the fabrication business.

The tournament is an important event for us to keep up the team spirit and celebrate our 25 years in the Gulf together with our customers", commented ESAB Middle East Technical Director Johan Fransson and Pradeep Joshi, ESAB Area Manager in GCC-Sales.
