Resistance Welding

Print Print
In resistance welding, metals are joined without filler material by applying pressure and electric current to the area to be welded. The amount of heat depends on i.e. the electric resistance at the weld area. This is an important factor of this welding process and has lent its name to it.

The major resistance welding processes are:
* Spot welding
* Projection welding
* Seam welding
* Resistance butt welding
* Flash-butt welding
